Hello! Welcome to the Jello Home! I am so excited that you are here. If you want to find some of the best Jello recipes along with some of our family favorite recipes, you are in the right place.
I live in Northern Utah. Of course I do! Utah does eat more jello than the rest of the United States of America. But I don’t just do green jello and pears. Okay, maybe I have a couple times, but that was years ago and I’ve gone long past that now.
For the past 12 years I have been a stay at home mom. And I rock at it. Okay, most days are crazy and have me saying I quit. But my kids are the best. I have 4 amazing kids and a pretty cool husband who like show up every once in a while in my posts and YouTube Videos. They love being apart of the Jello Home. It’s not just me. It’s a family thing.
Jello can be fun too. That’s where my kids love to come in. They love playing and creating with puddings, jigglers, and squishing leftover jello in their fingers. They are also getting good at creating their own jello flowers.
HOW THE JELLO HOME CAME TO BE
I began creating fun Jello desserts at a young age and loved bringing jello trifles to family parties and missionary farewells. One of my favorite cookbooks growing up was an old Jello recipe book of my mom’s. It’s splattered in red thanks to all my creating as a kid.
Over the years I started creating more and more elaborate jello creations. I rarely use a cookbook anymore. I create what I see in my imagination. I am always dreaming up the next great creation.
Every year I bring a 16 Layer Jello trifle to our family Christmas Eve party. It just wouldn’t be Christmas Eve without it. I spend all day on December 23rd making jello. Don’t ask me to do anything that day, it’s my jello day. All of my cousins look forward to this jello so much that I now have to bring two! Every year I look for ways to out do the last year’s jello using new techniques.
My family has been telling me for years that I need to make my own cookbook with my jello recipes. I would love to. One day, I really want that to happen.
Christmas Day 2018, I fell off a hoverboard and broke my wrist. Thank heavens that it was the day after Christmas Eve. While going through recovery, and months of physical therapy to get my movement back, I decided that this was the year I was going to make my jello dreams a reality.
I dreamed of a way to get my jellos out to the world and am so excited that I am actually doing that now.
I wanted a way to get my recipes out to the world and I am so happy that I can finally do so.
I hope you enjoy our recipes and creations. If you give a recipe a try, I’d love to hear about it, or tag me on instagram. @thejellohome
